ITI Portal Project Wins IPAC Award

November 30, 2009 - We are very proud that the WelcomeBC portal re-design project has won an IPAC Innovative Management Award.

ITI was the primary contractor for this project, and we provided the portal re-design and development services, including content development and editing, Flash design, and key visual elements. You can check out our team’s portal work by visiting www.welcomebc.ca.

A recent Ministry of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development press release notes that the “Institute for Public Administration of Canada (IPAC) award celebrates and encourages innovative managerial initiatives in the public administration of Canada. WelcomeBC.ca was selected as one of the best submissions in the country.”

WelcomeBC had previously made the Provincial Finalists list for the 2008/2009 Premier’s Innovation and Excellence Awards, but this new accolade represents national-level recognition of the project.

ITI Now Offering Affordable Joomla! Websites

November 16, 2009 - We are pleased to announce the launch of our latest service offering: affordable websites based on the Joomla! platform.

These websites are of excellent quality, and because they utilize a global ‘open-source’ development community, we’re able to offer them at a fraction of what a genuinely custom-built site would cost. The offering comes in response to a noted trend in businesses and organizations all across BC, where we are seeing a sizable demand for new websites, but a general reluctance to spend a lot of money on them.

ITI has sourced the highest quality themes and web-parts, and is proud to offer websites that will be attractive and functional for years to come. We provide a wide assortment of designs to choose from, and a selection of ‘web-parts’, including events calendar, subscriptions, RSS feed, photo gallery, search box, blog, product catalogue, wiki, and many more options. Our service offering also includes member log-in, administrative back-end, training, hosting, and maintenance.

With several ITI clients already requesting these sites, we are confident that this new service offering will prove to be very popular.

January 15, 2009 - ITI’s application team designed, developed and implemented an interim Case Management System (CMS) for the new Vancouver's Downtown Community Court. The system was implemented into production in time for the opening of the new Court last summer.

ITI Spreads Its Wings

October 24, 2005 - Victoria’s own ITI International Technology Integration has just become a Canadian Controlled Private Corporation and is poised to grow, says company president John Sherrah.

“In the past, as a foreign-owned company, we had the incredible experience of working with cutting-edge companies like Japan Airlines, Hitachi and NEC,” says Sherrah. “However, by becoming a Canadian-controlled corporation, we can really leverage our expertise with information management systems to explore some lucrative niche markets here in BC and across Canada.”

Sherrah became majority shareholder of ITI in September, 2005. The company provides a range of services, including project management, business consulting, systems analysis, design and development, as well as desktop support and technical training.

“Canadian ownership allows ITI to act more quickly and to pursue technically challenging projects more aggressively,” says Meggan Podgorenko, who is in charge of business development at ITI. “The power is in our hands, and we intend to expand our business here in Canada.”

ITI is taking advantage of BC’s booming technology sector, and is providing a major sporting event in Vancouver with a web-enabled document and records management system.

“The organization chose us as being able to provide an application that is intuitive, manageable, easy to use and, most importantly, cost effective,” says Podgorenko."

Government ministries also rely on ITI to provide complex technology solutions – they worked with the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia to convert 80,000 pages of Hansard documentation to searchable MS Word and Adobe PDF documents.

“We use ITI because they have a very wide variety of available skills and their staff is very professional,” says Dexter Ratcliff, an IT director at the BC Ministry of Attorney General. “ITI remains a preferred company to deal with and their projects continue to come in on budget and on time.”

As well, ITI has been working with the BC Ministry of Attorney General and Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General to provide data conversion and application support for a complex database application called FIGARO that allowed the ministry to replace three legacy systems with a single solution. ITI just completed a major re-development for FIGARO2 which included adding additional business areas and complex J2EE and Oracle VPD functionality.

“We’re a local company employing local talent – we don’t outsource any projects overseas,” says Sherrah. “We employ 60 people here in Victoria, and we’ve also just opened an office in Vancouver.”

ITI has almost 20 years of practical experience applying advanced technology to complex business requirements. Today, from its head office in Victoria, ITI and its staff provide a full range of services, including business analysis, systems design and development, project management, intranet/extranet development, network installations and maintenance, and technical training.

High-Tech Food Drive

October 23, 2004 - ITI is in the High-Tech Challenge for the Mustard Seed this year. We are competing with a number of Victoria IT companies in the challenge to raise the most food for the food bank. The Mustard Seed raised more than 4,500 kilograms of food last year and continues to do this event every year with IT companies to help the less fortunate during the holidays.

So, what ITI is asking of you …… We NEED your support in this challenge!

We ask you to please search the back of the cupboards for any types of food that you could spare to the Mustard Seed. They are taking everything - cereals, staples, meats (canned of course), baby products (food diapers, etc.), pastas, dairy products (powder or canned), personal needs (paper towels, shampoo, facial tissue, etc…), baking supplies, vegetables (canned) and soups. Those cans of beans, SPAM and mashed pumpkin that have been stowed away in your cupboard for a year are ideal to help a hungry family enjoy the holiday season!

We ask you to please come to ITI headquarters on 854 Pandora and drop off your Mustard Seed donations starting Wednesday Oct. 23, 2004 until November 25th, 2004. We appreciate all your help and would like to thank you in advance for your generosity.
